Ammunition factory Prvi Partizan is situated in southwestern part of Serbia, in town Uzice, 200 km away from Belgrade, the capital. PPU has been producing ammunition for 80 years now, since 1928, when its founded. PPU has supplied Serbian Army and Police, many foreign Armies and it also produces hunting and sporting ammunition, that is being sold all over the world. The factory has four production facilities, employs more than 600 workers and it takes important part in economy of its region.

Experience is the best school. Our school of knowledge, tradition and good quality last for 80 years.
We have started in far 1928, in gunsmith workshop, the firs private factory of this kind in the Balkans, known as FOMU (Arms and Ammunition Factory Uzice).
Factory had its own school for training of riflemen, thanks to whose work and merits name of the factory was presented in the first world arms and ammunition catalogues of that time.
Until the year 1938, factory developed production of pistol and revolver ammunition in calibers 6.35 mm, 7.65 mm, 9 mm Browing, 5.8 mm Veldog, 9 mm Steyr, 7.62 mm Nagant, 8 mm Gasser, 9mm, 11.2 mm and 12 mm Central, so as production of single - barreled an double - barreled shotguns and several calibers of hunting cartridges.
Since 1940, while World War II was raging trough Europe, rifle ammunition in caliber 7.9 mm an several calibers of pistol and revolver ammunition were produced in Uzice.
At the beginning of World War II the factory was plunder of occupying forces. The town Uzice was liberated on September 24th 1941, and Arms Factory had started to work under control of partisan's military authority. During that period Uzice was the only town in Yugoslavia, and maybein Europe, in which arms factory was working under the occupation. The factory stopped working on November 22nd 1941, because of planted explosion that took more than 120 persons.
Since 1947 factory works under the name Prvi Parizan and PPU marking on the case bottm, recognizable all over the world, today being synonym of tradition and quality.
After devastating war, in the 1948 on the equipped machine park 30 million of rifle an 7.2 million of handgun ammunition produced.
In period after Worl War II, factory aimed to developing production of other calibers of shooting ammunition, and also ammunition for commercial market.

Today, Prvi Partizan is modern factory, shoulder to shoulder with the most known world manufacturers, which in its production program has wide rsnge of commercial am military calibers, pistol and revolver ammunition of the highest quality.
